AliExpress opens a new distribution center in Tel Aviv's Dizengoff Center, covering 80 square meters. The center will serve several hundred recipients, with more planned if successful, aiming to improve delivery standards.
AliExpress, a major Chinese e-commerce company, is launching a new package distribution center in Tel Aviv, Israel. This center, named Parcel Home, will be located in Dizengoff Center, covering 80 square meters. It is expected to open within two weeks and will initially serve several hundred package recipients. The move comes as AliExpress aims to enhance the shopping experience for Israeli consumers.
The logistics arm of AliExpress, Cainiao, has been actively involved in this initiative. Representatives from Cainiao visited Israel two months ago, and three senior executives arrived this week to advance the project. The new center is seen as a strategic move to maintain AliExpress's lead in the Israeli market amidst competition from other e-commerce giants like Temu and SHEIN.
AliExpress is a dominant player in the Israeli e-commerce market, but it faces stiff competition from Temu and SHEIN. Temu, in particular, poses a significant threat with its comprehensive product range. The opening of the new center could be a response to this competition, ensuring faster and more reliable delivery services for Israeli customers.
The new center aims to complement existing delivery services rather than replace them. Currently, AliExpress works with various shipping companies in Israel, including Israel Post, which has over 400 delivery points. If the Tel Aviv center proves successful, AliExpress plans to open additional centers across the country. The long-term goal is to improve delivery standards and customer satisfaction.
