VAUDE starts its online second-hand shop in Germany, promoting long-term use and reducing environmental impact. Explore high-quality used products at affordable prices.
On April 10, 2024, in Tettnang, Germany, VAUDE launched a new segment of its business—online sales of second-hand outdoor products. This initiative is a strategic move towards sustainable growth, emphasizing resource conservation and CO2 emission reduction. This platform, accessible at www.rent-secondhand.vaude.com, is currently available only in Germany but is part of a broader plan to offer a circular economy model globally.
VAUDE has partnered with WKS Textilveredelungs-GmbH for the refurbishment of outdoor gear, ensuring that all products meet stringent quality standards. The software specialist Lizee supports the online platform, helping manage the lifecycle of each product. Together, these partnerships help VAUDE ensure that every piece of equipment, from clothing to tents, is not only functional but also environmentally sound.
The VAUDE Second Hand webshop offers items from "Like new" to "Good" condition, providing a transparent grading system to help customers make informed decisions. This approach not only offers cost-effective options for quality outdoor equipment but also addresses the textile industry's significant environmental impact.
VAUDE's approach goes beyond just selling used products. They aim to integrate new, rentable, and second-hand items under one comprehensive sustainability initiative. By 2025, VAUDE plans to expand this model to include a buyback option, allowing consumers to sell back their used goods, thus fostering a fully circular economy.
