Starting November 13, Bol.com will expand its product range to include refurbished devices. This includes smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smartwatches. The company has partnered with Fixje, Forza, Leapp, and Renewd to ensure high-quality standards. These devices will be checked on over 50 points, cleaned, updated, and repaired when necessary. To build customer trust, each device will come with a new charging cable and a 2-year warranty.

Chief E-commerce Officer Oscar Hundman stated that Bol.com’s scale, reaching over 13.6M consumers annually, can make refurbished products more mainstream. He noted that many consumers want to shop sustainably but hesitate due to limited options. By offering rigorously tested and reliable devices, Bol.com aims to make sustainable choices accessible and appealing to the masses.

The refurbished market in the Benelux region could receive a significant boost from Bol.com’s entry. Competitors like Swappie, which specializes in refurbished iPhones, have gained traction, but Bol.com’s broad offerings and reputation could help expand consumer interest. Two years ago, Test-Aankoop endorsed refurbished iPhones, and now, Bol.com’s backing may further validate this market.
