FedEx unveils the Collaborative Shipping Tool, streamlining imports by improving shipment visibility and pickup efficiency for global businesses.
FedEx has introduced the Collaborative Shipping Tool to make imports easier. The tool allows importers and shippers to work together on Airway Bill (AWB) creation. This reduces shipment errors and improves pickup efficiency. With global trade set to grow 3% in 2025, the timing is perfect. China, a major import hub, saw imports reach $2.6T in 2024 and remains the second-largest importer worldwide.
Missed pickups and poor tracking cause major problems in global trade. FedEx’s new tool gives real-time insights into shipment progress. This enhances visibility, reduces delays, and helps businesses plan better. According to the International Trade Centre, these inefficiencies cost importers millions yearly. FedEx aims to cut these losses with a more transparent process.
China’s imports are booming, and businesses need better logistics tools. FedEx China’s president, Poh-Yian Koh, highlights how this tool improves efficiency for local businesses. It connects Chinese importers with global shippers, optimizing supply chains. With China’s import growth at 5.1% in 2025, logistics innovation is key.
The new tool is now available across Asia Pacific, Europe, the U.S., and more. It complements FedEx’s iClear system, which simplifies imports further. Salil Chari, FedEx’s SVP of Marketing, calls this a step toward “a smarter supply chain.” FedEx is betting big on digital logistics, shaping a future where imports are seamless and efficient.
