TikTok Shop is launching in Italy, Germany, France, Japan, and Brazil in 2025, despite ongoing US regulatory uncertainty.
TikTok Shop is growing fast. In 2025, it's entering Italy, Germany, France, Japan, and Brazil. Chinese sellers have been invited to set up stores. Italy will see TikTok’s “yellow shopping cart” icon by April. Japan’s launch is expected in June.
Despite US uncertainty, TikTok Shop is thriving. In January, its US sales jumped 153% year-over-year. Shein and Temu grew only 26% and 28%, respectively. TikTok is also gaining market share in transactions over $25, a key Shein category.
Germany will introduce "Fulfilled by TikTok" (FBT), handling storage and shipping for sellers. The UK pioneered FBT in 2023. TikTok has posted dozens of e-commerce job listings across Milan, Paris, Munich, Tokyo, and São Paulo.
Despite success, TikTok faces US regulatory hurdles. The Supreme Court upheld a sell-or-ban law, with a deadline in mid-January. Trump delayed enforcement by 75 days. TikTok recently returned to app stores, but its future in the US remains uncertain.
Will TikTok’s e-commerce push outpace Shein and Temu?
