Wayfair is opening an outlet store in Naperville, IL, this fall. The store will sell returned and discounted items. It joins Wayfair's first physical store in Wilmette and Joss & Main in Oakbrook. The Naperville outlet is the fifth Wayfair outlet in the U.S.
Wayfair, the online furniture and home store, will open its first Illinois outlet in Naperville this fall. This expansion comes months after opening their first physical store in Wilmette. The Naperville outlet will focus on selling returned and discounted items. According to Wayfair, this will be the fifth outlet in the U.S., joining locations in Kentucky, Texas, New York, and North Carolina.
The Naperville Wayfair Outlet will offer a range of returned and discounted items in good condition. This follows the success of their Wilmette store, which features over 80,000 pieces of inventory, including furniture, home improvement items, and a restaurant. Customers can expect a similar experience in Naperville, with a focus on budget-friendly shopping.
The Wilmette Wayfair store, which opened in May, is expected to be a significant contributor to the local economy. Wilmette village president Senta Plunkett noted, "It will be our largest sales tax generator. We're excited to reinvest those sales tax dollars into our infrastructure." The store features a variety of home goods, custom cabinetry, and a restaurant, providing a comprehensive shopping experience.
Wayfair's expansion into physical stores, including the new Naperville outlet, reflects their strategy to offer a tangible shopping experience. Liza Lefkowski, VP of merchandising, said the Chicago market, especially Wilmette, offers a great opportunity for Wayfair. "Lots of young families here," Lefkowski said, highlighting the store's appeal to diverse budgets and home styles. This move aims to strengthen Wayfair's market presence and provide convenient shopping options for customers.
