Yodel partners with Spar, adding 56 new stores and 50 lockers. The expansion boosts its Out of Home network, meeting growing demand in Northern Ireland's delivery market.
Yodel announced plans to open 56 new store locations across Northern Ireland. These additions bring its regional Out of Home (OOH) delivery network to 273 locations. The expansion builds on Yodel’s partnership with PayPoint and Spar Northern Ireland, owned by Henderson Group. This move reflects growing consumer demand for flexible and sustainable delivery options.
As part of its efforts, Yodel launched over 50 lockers in Northern Ireland since May 2023. The lockers complement their Store-to-Store and Store-to-Door services. Sam Holden, Chief Commercial Officer of Yodel, emphasized the rising demand for these solutions, noting Northern Ireland as one of the busiest UK regions for OOH services. The trend aligns with consumer preferences for convenience and sustainability.
Northern Ireland's stores are key performers in Yodel’s network. For example, Donard View Service Station in Ballynahinch handles 1,500 parcels quarterly and won Yodel’s Store of the Quarter award. Additionally, nine of the top ten busiest Yodel stores in the UK are in Northern Ireland, showcasing the region’s growing importance in the parcel delivery market.
Yodel’s Out of Home network across the UK has grown by 25% since early 2024. This national push strengthens the company’s presence while adapting to shifting consumer trends. With plans to explore even more Northern Ireland locations in 2025, Yodel is positioning itself as a leader in flexible delivery solutions. Henderson Group’s partnership plays a pivotal role in this expansion.
