Zomato will rename itself as Eternal as Blinkit surpasses its food delivery business. The $25.2B firm will also change its stock ticker to ETERNAL.
Zomato’s quick-commerce unit, Blinkit, has overtaken its core food delivery business. Analysts predict Blinkit will drive 70% of the company’s value in 2025. This shift prompted a rebranding move, with Zomato renaming itself as Eternal.
Zomato, with a $25.2B market cap, will change its stock ticker from ZOMATO to ETERNAL. The name change reflects its evolving business, which includes Blinkit, Hyperpure, and District. The Zomato app will retain its name for brand continuity.
Founder Deepinder Goyal shared his thoughts in a letter to shareholders. He called “Eternal” a “mission statement,” symbolizing a long-term vision. The name was first used internally after Zomato acquired Blinkit, distinguishing the corporate entity from its brands.
Zomato’s inclusion in India’s BSE Sensex in December signals its growing influence. With Blinkit leading growth, the company aims to solidify its dominance in India’s fast-changing e-commerce landscape under its new name, Eternal.
Will Zomato’s rebrand help it dominate quick commerce?
