Seattle’s Pipe17 secures $15.5M Series A funding, bringing its total to $25M. The startup, which optimizes e-commerce logistics, adds Kelly Goetsch as COO to scale growth.
Pipe17 has brought in Kelly Goetsch as its first Chief Operations Officer. Goetsch, former Chief Strategy Officer at commercetools, has vast experience in e-commerce innovation. At commercetools, he co-led the MACH Alliance and played a key role in raising $300M. “Joining Pipe17 feels like history repeating itself,” Goetsch said, referring to the company’s potential to redefine e-commerce infrastructure. His expertise is expected to accelerate Pipe17’s growth and operational excellence.
The $15.5M Series A funding, led by LFX Venture Partners, brings Pipe17’s total raised to $25M since its 2019 founding. The company’s AI-driven platform addresses supply chain management, order processing, and logistics. Notable customers include Allbirds, Ryder, and FedEx. The funding will fuel platform enhancements and market expansion, CEO Mo Afshar stated. Investors see significant growth potential, especially as e-commerce demand remains high post-pandemic.
Pipe17’s leadership team is packed with expertise. CEO Mo Afshar previously led Spoken Communications, acquired by Avaya in 2018. Chief Technologist John Shao has a background with Oracle and VMware, while Head of Product Dave Shaffer worked at Workato. This foundation has enabled Pipe17 to scale rapidly, with 58 employees and key partnerships with logistics providers like UPS and FedEx.
Founded in 2019 in Seattle, Pipe17 launched just before a global e-commerce boom. The company’s AI technology promises to revolutionize e-commerce logistics, streamlining everything from inventory to delivery. With Goetsch at the helm, $15.5M in fresh capital, and high-profile customers, Pipe17 is poised for significant growth. The focus now is on scaling operations and expanding its market reach.
