Amazon's ad business hit $56.2B in 2024, an 18% YoY increase, driven by Prime Video ads. CEO Andy Jassy highlighted a $69B run rate, as Amazon Ads expands globally.
Amazon's advertising business hit $56.2B in 2024. That’s up 18% from $46.9B in 2023. Amazon’s overall growth was just 11%, meaning ads are outpacing it. CEO Andy Jassy projected a $69B run rate. Four years ago, this was only $29B. Huge leap.
Amazon introduced video ads on Prime Video in 10 countries in 2024. More markets, including Brazil and India, will follow in 2025. Prime Video’s ad-supported tier now reaches 200M+ globally, boosting Amazon's digital ad dominance.
Amazon refined its ad products to serve different marketing goals. Top-of-funnel ads boost brand awareness. Mid-funnel targets search ads based on keywords. Bottom-funnel drives direct sales. Jassy says it’s easier for brands to advertise.
Amazon’s ad revenue made up 9% of total sales in Q4 2024. At $17.29B, it was slightly below estimates but still up 18% YoY. The company’s full-year net income soared to $59.2B, nearly doubling from $30.4B in 2023.
