Starting 2025, DPD Germany will expand its cooperation with myflexbox, rolling out over 1,000 parcel stations nationwide. This partnership boosts DPD’s out-of-home strategy and aligns with GLS to offer 20,000 points by 2027.
DPD Germany is intensifying its out-of-home strategy by expanding its parcel delivery and drop-off options. Starting January 2025, its partnership with myflexbox will grow from Hamburg pilot locations to cover Germany. Customers will enjoy over 1,000 myflexbox lockers for collecting, sending, and returning parcels. This complements DPD’s network expansion with GLS, which aims to establish 20,000 out-of-home points, including parcel stations and shops, by 2027.
myflexbox’s smart lockers aim to cut CO₂ emissions caused by failed deliveries and urban traffic. This aligns with DPD's commitment to flexible and eco-friendly parcel delivery. By 2025, the German myflexbox network will feature 1,000 lockers, inspired by its success in Austria, where customers can use lockers 24/7 for all major parcel carriers. “This collaboration will transform our service flexibility,” said Michael Knaupe, DPD’s Customer Experience Officer.
The cooperation with myflexbox follows DPD's October 2024 agreement with GLS, targeting 10,000 pickup shops by year-end. Together, they aim to provide customers with unparalleled convenience and accessibility. Jonathan Grothaus, Co-CEO of myflexbox, remarked, “This collaboration marks our fourth integration in Germany and brings unique added value to European customers.”
DPD, part of Geopost, operates 79 depots and over 8,000 pickup shops in Germany, handling 350M parcels annually. Globally, Geopost delivered 2.1B parcels in 2023, generating $16.8B in revenue. Their focus on technological innovation and partnerships, like with myflexbox, drives growth and customer satisfaction. The shared vision of enhancing last-mile logistics through smart lockers positions both companies as leaders in the European parcel market.
