London-based startup Ameba raised $7.1M led by Hedosophia to disrupt retail supply chains. Its AI-powered platform extracts unstructured data to predict disruptions, cut manual data input by 30%, and reduce inefficiencies. Co-founders Hoffmann and Massie bring experience from VALOREO and Palantir.
Traditional retailers face growing competition from fast-moving companies like Shein and Temu, which utilize efficient supply chains. These incumbents struggle with legacy systems, managing vast amounts of data across fragmented platforms. Ameba, a London startup, addresses these inefficiencies by using AI to streamline supply chain management. Its generative AI reduces manual data input by 30%, providing retailers with faster insights into their global operations. As fashion retailers struggle to keep up, this AI solution could be a game changer.
Ameba’s platform analyzes unstructured data from various sources, including supplier emails and WhatsApp messages, and generates actionable insights. Founder Cedrik Hoffmann says the AI pulls information from siloed systems to offer better visibility, predicting disruptions and resolving bottlenecks. The company’s AI integrates with existing systems, allowing brands to react faster to supply chain problems. According to Hoffmann, “We release that information from silos and surface it to the relevant parties within your organization.”
Ameba has raised $7.1M in a seed round led by London-based VC Hedosophia, with participation from Visionaries Club and Anamcara Capital. Visionaries Club previously led the startup’s pre-seed round. The company has already worked with British interior hardware brand Plank, generating over 140 alerts for production and delivery issues that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Hedosophia declined to comment on the investment, continuing its low-profile approach to venture funding.
Ameba’s co-founders bring extensive experience to the table. Hoffmann, the former supply chain director at VALOREO, understands the complexities of retail logistics. His co-founder, Craig Massie, was an engineer at Palantir, with a strong background in data and AI. Their platform uses a blend of AI models, including OpenAI’s technology, to optimize supply chain processes. Isabella Yamamoto from Visionaries Club praised the founders, saying, “Cedrik and Craig have the experience to build a disruptive business using AI to eliminate fragmentation in supply chains.”
