Europe's largest food delivery firm, Just Eat Takeaway, teams up with Amazon to offer free delivery for Prime members in Germany, Austria, and Spain. This partnership aims to enhance customer convenience and expand market reach. The service launches through Lieferando in Germany and Austria, and Just Eat in Spain.
Europe's largest food delivery firm, Just Eat Takeaway, announced a new partnership with Amazon on Wednesday. This deal offers Amazon Prime members in Germany, Austria, and Spain free delivery on food orders above 15 euros ($16.13). The collaboration marks Just Eat's first partnership with Amazon in Europe, enhancing its services for customers in these countries.
Just Eat Takeaway stated the partnership is "mutually beneficial" and aims to provide added value for both companies' customers. Prime members can now enjoy free delivery, making ordering food more convenient. This move aligns with Amazon's recent initiative in the U.S., where Prime members can order from Just Eat-owned Grubhub without delivery fees.
Amazon's collaboration with Just Eat isn't new. In late May, Amazon expanded its U.S. services to include orders from Grubhub directly on its shopping app and website. This extension of their mid-2022 deal offers Prime members no-fee access to Grubhub+ membership, showcasing the companies' ongoing efforts to enhance customer experience.
The new collaboration will launch through Lieferando in Germany and Austria, and Just Eat in Spain. This strategic move is expected to boost Just Eat's market presence in these countries. By leveraging Amazon's vast Prime membership base, Just Eat aims to attract more customers and drive growth in the competitive food delivery market.
