Morrisons and Just Eat started working together in 2022, initially offering meals from Morrisons cafés. In December 2023, they included groceries from Morrisons Daily convenience stores. Now, the partnership covers 380 Morrisons supermarkets across the UK. Charlotte Exell, Morrisons’ online operations director, said, "We are excited to introduce another fast and convenient option for our customers to get Morrisons groceries delivered straight to their door."
Customers can order thousands of everyday essentials, fresh favorites from Market Street, last-minute dinners, and treats through the Just Eat app and website. Just Eat offers free delivery on all Morrisons grocery orders over £15 until the end of 2024. This extended partnership aims to provide great value and high-quality products, as emphasized by Exell.
Just Eat’s grocery and retail service now covers over 78% of UK postcodes. Amy Heather, director of strategic accounts at Just Eat UK, highlighted the growing demand for on-demand grocery services. She said, "We’re seeing a huge appetite for on-demand grocery from consumers, with over a million customers having purchased groceries via Just Eat last year alone."
Just Eat Takeaway reported a significant increase in profits, with a more than 40% jump in first-half core profit, driven by its main European markets. This financial success underlines the importance of strategic partnerships like the one with Morrisons in meeting consumer needs and enhancing company performance.
